Kimi – Death & Transformation

The Maya word today in the Kaqchikel language is Kame.

Do note that “death” in the Maya world, was seen quite differently to our notion of it. Death was a time of transformation, change, and growth, for example winter turning into spring. It is seen as a good and necessary occurrence.
