Meet the Author

Inspired by Dr Diane’s real-life archaeological adventures in the Guatemalan rainforest, this section brings together author visits, virtual workshops, classroom resources and her children’s book, The Adventures of a Maya Archaeologist: Snakes, Scorpions, and Jungle Discoveries.

Young readers can continue the adventure through the Adventurer’s Portal, where they can solve clues and puzzles from the book, earn certificates and unlock rewards.

You’ll also find, following publication on 1st September, teaching resources and a media library featuring images, videos, interviews and behind-the-scenes content from the real expeditions that inspired the story.
