This interactive virtual visit begins with a presentation in which Dr Diane shares stories, photographs and videos from her expeditions in Guatemala, revealing how real discoveries, challenges and encounters in the rainforest inspired The Adventures of a Maya Archaeologist.

Pupils also take part in a live Q&A session where they can ask questions about the book, the writing process, rainforest adventures, archaeological discoveries and what it is really like to work as an archaeologist in the Maya world.

These sessions are always a highlight for children, giving them the exciting opportunity to meet both a real archaeologist and the author behind the adventure.
