Dr Davies – Biography

Dr Diane Davies is a Maya archaeologist and honorary research associate of the Institute of Archaeology, University College London. She is also the Chair of Chok Education, a charity supporting the education of Maya children.

Dr Davies completed her PhD in the Archaeology and Anthropology of Central America, in particular, the Maya, at Tulane University, New Orleans.  She also has a Masters in Archaeology from the Institute of Archaeology, UCL and a BA Joint Honours in History and Philosophy from Leeds University.

Dr Davies has lectured to a variety of organisations such as the Arts Society and Historical Association, taught causes on the Maya at various academic institutions as well as being a consultant for television and radio.

Presently, Dr Davies is focusing on her educational consultancy work for schools, giving workshops to both teachers and children on the Maya.  She is the director of Maya Archaeologist Limited, a company that creates award-winning educational resources on the Maya.
